Mary Jean Thompson
Mary Jean Thompson, 76, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, Kansas. Born November 15, 1938, at Protection, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd Edward and Ruby Ilene (Newton) Williams, she was a homemaker.
Jean was a longtime resident of Comanche County, KS, moving back to the area in 1985, previously living in Plains, KS. She attended Protection High School in Protection, Kansas.
On August 30, 1955, she married Melvin Thompson at Clayton, New Mexico. He survives.
She is survived by her husband: Melvin Thompson of Coldwater, Kansas; six children: Floydene "Sister" Little (Ray) of Tucson, Arizona, Melvina Caldwell of Seattle, Washington, Jody Thompson (Anita) of Liberal, Kansas, Mitch Thompson (Maggie) of Liberal, KS, Eldon "Duke" Thompson (Ken) of Wichita, KS, and David Thompson of Coldwater, KS; one sister: Peggy Stotler of Ashland, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father: Carlyle Frazier; one sister: Faye Brooks; one granddaughter: Mandy Laree Rush; one grandson: Jeremey Caldwell; and one great-grandson: Aiden Thompson.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2015 (Family Will Be Present From 5-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, Kansas.
Funeral Service is at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, Kansas, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, Kansas.
