Melvina Ilene Caldwell, 56, passed away on Thursday, May 4 , 2017 at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington. Born June 2, 1960 in Coldwater, KS, she was the daughter of Melvin and Jean Thompson.
Melvina lived many years in Mukilteo, WA, previously living in Little Rock, AR, Ashland, KS, and Plains, KS. She attended Plains Elementary School and Southwestern Heights High School. Melvina worked many years as a department head for Target, and currently worked at Home Depot with many friends that loved her. She really enjoyed traveling with her partner David, going to casinos, and spending time with family and friends as often as she could.
Melvina is survived by her partner of 25 years, David Bergiven (Mukilteo, WA.) Three children: her son, Kris Caldwell & family (Pratt, KS) and two daughters, Tina Keith & family (Norton, KS) and Brandi Adams & family (Medicine Lodge, KS). Melvina is also survived by her sister Floydene Little (Ray) of Tuscon Az. and her four brothers: Jody Thompson (Anita) of Liberal, KS, Mitch Thompson (Margaret) also of Liberal, KS, Eldon Thompson (Ken) of Wichita, KS, and David Thompson of Coldwater, KS; Thirteen grandchildren; and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin & Jean Thompson, her son Jeremey Caldwell, and her grandparents Floyd & Winnie Williams, Carl & Ruby Frasier and Edson & Leta Thompson.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
