Nancy Victoria (Barnes) Jackson

Nancy Victoria (Barnes) Jackson, 70, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Carriage House in Greensburg, KS. Born May 6, 1944, at Coldwater, KS, the daughter of Monte Dean and Thelma Irene (Campbell) Barnes, she was a farmer and rancher.
Nancy was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. She attended Coldwater Grade School, graduated from Coldwater High School in 1962, and attended Wichita Business College. On January 6, 1963, she married Daniel Jackson. They were later divorced. Nancy was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church; a board member of Southwest Kansas Farm Management from 1992-1998; and was the first female member of the Comanche County Volunteer Fire Department.
She is survived by one son: Darren Jackson and his wife Kena of Coldwater, KS; one daughter: Kelly Herd and her husband Skip of Coldwater, KS; one brother: Lynn Barnes of Coldwater, KS; three sisters: Wanda Stull of Inman, KS, Laveta Cobb and her husband Myrl of Topeka, KS, and Billie Holler of Nickerson, KS; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Evan Jackson and his wife Chelsey and children Emma and Henry, Megan Snyder and her husband Toby and children Jackson and Reed, Kiah Booth and her son Jace, Braden Booth, Tylyn Jackson, and Owen Herd.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Gary Merritt and Chan Gates presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
