Patricia "Pat" Leonarae (Cook) Hart, 85, of Protection, KS, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 22, 2024, at Comanche County Hospital with her beloved daughters by her side. She was born on May 3, 1939, in her grandmother's home in Excelsior Springs, MO, to Raymond and Doris Cook.
Patricia and her family moved to Sun City, KS when she was in the 5th grade. It was there that she first met the love of her life, James Wesley Hart. After graduating high school together in Sun City, Patricia and James were married on August 21, 1957. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Protection, KS, where they built a home and raised their family, living there ever since. Together they shared a lifetime of memories.
Their union was blessed with four children: Justin (Becky) Hart, Jana Durall, Jamie (Jennie) Hart, and Jodi Beck. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love and warmth will be cherished forever by her family.
Patricia was known for her strong work ethic, having spent many years working at the Post Print Shop, driving a school bus, clerking at Bill's Grocery, and serving as a CNA for 27 years. She was also passionate about sports and enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in their activities.
Patricia was deeply involved in her community and a proud member of several local organizations, including the Mother's Advancement Club and Circle of Friends. She was active in numerous events and activities, always offering her time and support to those around her.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love through her 15 grandchildren: Stacy (Ashley) Hart, Justine (Chris) Klein, Sheldon (Bailey) Hart, Holly (Evan) Ferrante, Heidi (Steven) Conley, Heath (Emily) Durall, Tatum (Caleb) Swim, Dustin (Eirika) Hart, Kira (Drew) Pfannenstiel, Haley (Kolton) Hart, Amber (Shane) Wagnon, Brodie Beck, Trae (Allison) Beck, and Peyton (Ashley) Freund. She also leaves behind 32 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Wesley Hart; her parents: Raymond and Doris Cook; her sister: Joyce Hindman; and her grandson: Tyler Hart.
Patricia's legacy is one of love, strength, and dedication to her family. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Family Will Be Present From 5-7 p.m.), Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral Service is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Kris Logsdon presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Comanche County Hospital Capital Campaign or The Center of Protection in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
