Patricia Dean McCay, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Pratt Rehabilitation and Resident Center in Pratt, KS. Born April 26, 1926 in Laredo, TX, she was the daughter of Arthur B. and Elsa Elizabeth (Schaeffer) Benson.
Pat was a long time resident of Coldwater, KS, recently moving to Pratt, KS. She retired from Comanche County Engineer's Office after working there for many years. She was a former member of the Coldwater First Christian Church.
Pat began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses in 2009. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on December 15, 2013. She loved to share her new faith with friends and neighbors.
She is survived by one son: James Arthur McCay of Colorado Springs, CO; five nieces: Karen Emerson of Great Bend, KS, Sarah Lynn Reid of Naperville, IL, Linda Jenkins of Tuttle, OK, Pat Buckbee of Oregon, and Kathy Jackson of Valley Center, KS; five nephews: Butch Bloomer of Gaston, OR, Michael Benson of Ponca City, OK, David Benson of Enid, OK, Bill Bloomer of Oregon, and Bobby Bloomer of Sheridan, OR; four grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Kevin Laine McCay; three sisters: Audrey Bloomer, Elizabeth Fugitt, and Mildred Rasmussen; and a brother: Arthur B. Benson, Jr.
Graveside service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with Jared Sinclair presiding.
Memorial service will follow the graveside service at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 718 S. New St., Pratt, KS 67124, with a lunch following.
