Peggy Alice Rich, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at her residence near Protection, KS. Born August 9, 1938, at Galena, KS, she was the daughter of Floyd C. and Marjorie (Burnett) Rogers.

Peggy was a long-time resident of Comanche and Clark County, KS. She graduated from Leon High School in Leon, KS in 1956, Butler County Community College in 1958, and she received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Kansas State University in 1960.

On August 4, 1962, she married Billy J. Rich at Hutchinson, KS. He survives.

During her life, she was a home economics teacher in Inman, KS and Protection, KS; a homemaker; and she retired from the U.S. Postal Service and S.R.S. Her memberships include: Protection First Baptist Church; Mothers' Advancement Club; and she was a former leader for Acres 4-H Club.

She is survived by her husband: Billy J. Rich of Protection, KS; four children and five grandchildren: Ashley Rich of Garden City, KS, Michael Rich (Mindy) of Gilbert, AZ and children: Joshua and Jacob, Doug Rich (Holly) of Mesa, AZ and children: Eric, Reilly, and Jack, and Leslie Rich of Almaty, Kazakhstan; Rick Rogers (Kody) of Scott City, KS and children: Mikahael and Darrie; and two sisters: Sally Elmore (Steve) of Ashland, KS and Barbara Dewey of Cimarron, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Claude and Charles Rogers; one sister: Patricia Rich; and a son-in-law: Jimmie Richman.

Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Graveside service is at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Protection Cemetery, Protection, KS.

Memorial service is at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Protection, KS, with Pastor Randy Caddell presiding.
