Phyllis June McNeely, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born May 28, 1932, on a farm southeast of Coldwater, KS, she was the daughter of Glenn and Madeline (Marley) McCulla.
Phyllis was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. She attended Pike Country School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1950. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northwestern State College in Alva, OK in 1954.
On December 27, 1953, she married John McNeely at the Antioch Church in Buttermilk, KS. He survives.
Phyllis was a full time and devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family. She was a school teacher for many years and was a member of the Antioch Community Church in Buttermilk, KS.
She is survived by her husband: John McNeely of Coldwater, KS; two sons: Michael McNeely (Ramona) of Denver, CO and Brent McNeely (Allison) of Auburn, AL; one daughter: Jari Davis (Mark) of Little Rock, AR; a daughter-in-law: Elaine McNeely of Denver, CO; a sister: Glenda Weber of Tulsa, OK; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Danielle Williams (Chris) and Aiden, Ryder, Ryan, and Cash, Mariel Sullivan (Greg) and Ralston, Colin McNeely, Shaunessy McNeely, Jaden McNeely (Michelle), LoriAnne McNeely, Kaleigh Davis, Britynn Davis, Cayce Davis, Baighlor Davis, Madi McNeely, Brennan McNeely, and Melana McNeely.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Brian McNeely.
Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 (Family Will Greet Friends From 6-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Celebration of Life Service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Caleb Palmer presiding. Burial will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.
