Obituary

Joyce Raelene Pritt, 76, of Coldwater, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, 2017, at the Comanche County Hospital.
Born April 2, 1940, in Coldwater, she was the only child of Raymond and Betty Shultz.
Growing up in Coldwater, she graduated from Coldwater High School in 1958.
While married to Jim Affeldt, the couple had one child, Raymond, and moved back to Coldwater. She was later divorced and remarried John Pritt, moving then to Wichita.
She worked in various Civil Service capacities with the military, and as her job moved and her husband was re-assigned in the Navy, she ended up living in a number of countries, including Spain, Japan, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines before returning to Coldwater in 1994 upon the death of her husband.
Here she worked in several positions, including as an aide at the Comanche County Hospital, the special education cooperative secretary, and as a legal secretary in Ashland.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, and by her husband John Pritt.

Her survivors include her son Raymond and companion Debra Adams of Coldwater, and numerous cousins.

As per her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center for study, and her remains will be cremated at a later date.

Services are pending and will be announced at a later time.
