Obituary

Randall Wayne Bayne, 72, of Protection, passed away at his home on March 27,2024.

Randy was born on February 26, 1952, in Coldwater, KS. He is the son of Bill Bayne (Marlene) of Protection and the late Bernice Bayne. He grew up on a farm outside of Protection, KS. He was a 1970 graduate of Protection High School where he was involved in Football, Basketball, Track, 4-H, and showing his cattle and pigs. After high school, he attended Pratt Community College, ultimately returning to Protection to pursue his passion of Custom harvesting around the central United States.

Randy's life then led him to purchase Bar 6 Manufacturing, where he successfully grew the business and later started Bar 6 Dirt Construction. Randy worked long hours to provide for his family, and by doing so he became a skilled farmer and rancher. Along the way, Randy met many people and made numerous loyal friends. Randy had a passion for his cattle, and he loved working with and improving his herd.

Randy enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years; in his early years he competed in dirt track stock car racing. Randy enjoyed going hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was an avid follower of his kids and grandkids in their sports.

Randy's surviving family include his daughters, Nicale Ney (Jason) of Russell, KS, Kasey Bayne of Protection, Reagan Carlin (Jonah) of Protection, Taylor Bayne (Karson Waters) of Protection; two sisters Susan Doherty (Jim) of Brock TX, Teresa Bayne of Protection and one brother Michael Bayne (Suze) of Spearfish SD; and seven grandchildren; Jacob, Jaden, Cooper, Camry, Tripp, Keenan, and Knox.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother Bernice Bayne.

Calling times will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Family Will Be Present From 5-7 p.m.) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.  The family has asked if you have a hot iron cattle brand, please bring to the family visitation to personalize his casket.

Celebration of Randy's Life will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Protection Christian Church with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.

A Memorial has been established as the: Randall Bayne Memorial Fund. In lieu of flowers, contributions and condolences may be sent to Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029, who oversee these arrangements.
