Richard "Rich" Keith King

Richard "Rich" Keith King, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Born November 21, 1932 on a farm northwest of Coldwater, KS, he was the son of Nera Don and Helen (Roehr) King.
Rich was a longtime resident of Coldwater, KS, moving back in 1973, previously living in Wyoming; Pueblo, CO; and Oklahoma. He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1951-1952. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W.; Colorado Cattleman's Association; and N.R.A. He worked as a rancher and cowboy for much of his life and was also the owner/operator of King's Boot Repair in Coldwater, KS for many years. Rich lived life "The Cowboy Way".

On January 1, 1953, he married Paula A. McCay at Buttermilk, KS. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2004. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents: Nera Don King and Helen (Roehr) King; one brother: Herb King; one sister: Neva Markham; and one granddaughter: Megan Neal.

He is survived by three daughters: Richelle Wolgram-Hill (Rocky) of Pueblo, CO, Shannon Thompson of Coldwater, KS, and Jennifer King of Coldwater, KS; two sons: Robert King (Sheryl) of Laverne, OK and Nathan King (Carolyn) of Coldwater, KS; one sister: Darlene Hilt of Coldwater, KS; ten grandchildren: Travis Wolgram, Chad Wolgram (Lacey), Brett Wolgram (Lyndsey), Melissa Short (Tony), Ashley Frazier (Rusty), Tyler Thompson, Lara Meredith (Rube), Seth King (Natalie), Natalie King, and Nick King (Erin); thirteen great-grandchildren: Brady, Landon, Ryden, Shelby, Hadynn, Hunter, Xavier, Deacon, Royce, Luke, Kennedy, Dawson, and Krece; and nieces and nephews: Joe Brown (Marietta), Don Brown (Ann), Mike Brown (Kathie), Judy Gregg (Dean), Jerrold Garten, Rita Dome (Mike), and Lori, Mike, and Mitch Williams.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, (Family Will Be Present From 5-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Gary Moore presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS, with full military honors.
