Robert "Bob" Dewayne Bare

Robert "Bob" Dewayne Bare, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born March 7, 1926, on a farm in Clark Co., KS, the son of Chester Isaac and Bessie Pearl (Booth) Bare, he was a rancher.
Robert was a lifetime resident of Clark Co., KS. He was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Protection, KS in 1936. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1943 and attended Kansas State University, where he played 1st Trombone in the college band. He was a distinguished horse and cattle breeder and bred the A.Q.H.A. Super Horse named "Reprise Bar".
Robert was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland, KS. Other memberships include: Masonic Lodge; Order of Eastern Star; 4-H Leader; F.F.A.; Lifetime member of American Quarter Horse Association; and American Paint Horse Association.
On June 1, 1959, he married JoAnne Jones Sanborn at the United Methodist Church in Protection, KS. She survives.
He is survived by his wife: JoAnne (Jones) Bare of Ashland, KS; one son: John William Sanborn of Ashland, KS; one daughter: Roberta Bare of New Mexico; one brother: Chester Bare II of Missouri; and two sisters: Marguerite Schneider of Washington and Ruby Swanson of South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS. Funeral service for family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland, KS, with Pastor Doug Johnson presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Highland Cemetery in Ashland, KS.
