Robert Lee "Bob" Selzer, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, after a brief hospitalization in Wichita, KS. Born November 22, 1940 at Ashland, KS, he was the son of Roy and Esther (Willems) Selzer.
On April 16, 1960, he married Judy Stutzman at the First Mennonite Church in Denver, CO.
Nearly a lifetime resident of the Protection, KS area, Bob was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Associated Milk Producers Inc. and served on the Board for Protection Valley Manor. He earned his Pilot's License, enjoyed flying, and was a member of Western Aero Club. Music was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed singing with the Second Generation Quartet. He also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with his machinery. Bob loved spending time with his family and enjoyed taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren for rides on the tractor and 4-wheeler.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Selzer of the home; sons: Scott Selzer (Susan) of Anchorage, AK and Randy Selzer (Sally) of Protection, KS; grandchildren: Michael Selzer (Elyse), Matthew Selzer (Adin), Ryan Selzer (Victoria), and Christina McFadden (CJ); eight great-grandchildren; and siblings: Jerry Selzer (Jean), Carol Hoff (Steve), and Marvin Selzer (Bonnie).
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Esther Selzer.
Graveside Service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Protection Mennonite Cemetery, south of Protection, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Protection Valley Manor in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
