IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Mearl
Wilcheck
April 7, 1941 – June 3, 2022
Ronald Mearl Wilcheck, 81, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS.
Born April 7, 1941, at Hutchinson, KS, he was the son of Melvin and Margaret (Billings) Wilcheck. He was the oldest of 3, with 2 brothers, Keith & David. All have preceded him in death.
As a young man, Ron's passion was automobiles, esp. race cars. He raced Sprint Cars on oval dirt tracks across Kansas. Through-out his life, he was a passionate hunter and outdoorsman, never missing a pheasant or deer season.
In September 1968, Ron married his wife, Carol.
After completing technical college, he served time in the National Guard. For many years, he was a machinist for Cessna in both Wichita & Hutchinson. Later, he opened his own machine shop in Cheney Kansas, making parts for the aircraft industry. After selling the shop, he moved to Texas and opened a second machine shop which supplied the oil & gas industry. He finished his working career at Victor Welding Manufacturing. At this point, Ron & Carol moved to Nickerson Kansas.
Ron's other lifelong passion was his church. Whether he was attending church in Texas or Kansas, he often served as a lay minister, always helping anywhere he could.
Nov. 18, 2016, Carol preceded him in death.
Ron is survived by his nephew, Jon Wilcheck & family, Las Vegas NV.
