Obituary

Ruby Irene Booth, 96, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born April 30, 1921, in Scotland County, MO, she was the daughter of Samuel Ernest and Daisy Grace (Rush) Lawrence. Ruby came to Kansas in 1929 in a Model T Ford with her parents, sister: Wilma, brother: Ernie, and grandpa: Don Rush.
Ruby married John Robert Booth on March 4, 1945, in Wilmore, KS. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2009.

Ruby was nearly a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. She graduated from Wilmore High School in Wilmore, KS. She worked at the A.S.C.S. Office for twenty-four years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS. Other memberships include: B.P.W.; Civic Improvement Club; Kensington Club; V.F.W. Auxiliary; Mental Health & Hospital Auxiliary; and District VI Coordinator for Hospital Auxiliaries of Kansas. She enjoyed Red Hat Society, playing bridge, bowling, and golf. Ruby and John also enjoyed some cruises and bus tours after retirement.
Ruby fell at her home resulting in a broken neck about eight years ago and resided at the Pioneer Lodge since that time.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Wilma Lee Timmer Lewis and Alice Pearl Collett; and a brother: Charles Ernest Lawrence.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Gene Ann Lawrence of Tahlequah, OK and Wanda Booth Wait of Protection, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, KS, with Andrew Evans presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
