Ruth Caroleen McEnterfer Patterson

Ruth Caroleen McEnterfer Patterson, 92, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born November 2, 1920, in Belvidere, Neb., she was the daughter of David and Iva Nyle (Phelps) Person.
Ruth was a resident of Coldwater, KS, previously living in the Council Grove, KS area. She graduated from Wilsey High School in 1939 and attended nursing school in Emporia, KS. She worked as a nurse at the Comanche County Hospital and Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS, during her life. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and First Christian Church.
She married L.G. McEnterfer in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1982. She married Carl Patterson in 1986. He preceded her in death in 2006.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Michael L. McEnterfer in 2001; and one daughter: Sheila C. Haas in 2012.
She is survived by one brother: Dick Person and wife Genita of Council Grove, KS; a daughter-in-law: Linda Lytle of Coldwater, KS; a son-in-law: Jim Haas of Buttermilk, KS; four grandchildren: Shanda Kitzmiller and husband Fritz, Michelle Holligan and husband Mike, Trent Haas and wife Missy, and Tasha Haas; seven great-grandchildren: Ryan, Bret, and Erin Holligan, Fred and Amy Kitzmiller, and Lindsay and Lane Haas; and numerous cousins.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.

Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Doug Johnson presiding. Burial will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
