Scott Douglas Ellis
Scott Douglas Ellis, 48, was born May 11, 1963, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, KS. He was the youngest son of Larry, and the late Eleanor Ellis.
Scott attended school in Coldwater, KS, graduating with the CHS class of 1981. After graduation, he attended college at Pratt Community College, Fort Hays State University, The Colorado Institute of Arts in Denver, CO, and Wichita State University.
Scott called Wichita, KS, his home. He worked in Wichita, at Target, First National Fixture, and Gordman's, retiring from there in 2011.
He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was called 'Uncle Scott' by many. He loved his family and he was blessed to be able to care for his mother, and he was Audrey's handyman. Scott's sense of humor and unique way of looking at life will be greatly missed.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother: Eleanor Gregg Ellis; Step-mother: Audrey Chenoweth Ellis; grandparents: Charles "Chink" and Clyda Wheeler Gregg, and Harold and Naomi McKinney Ellis.
Scott is survived by his dad: Larry Ellis; two brothers: Alan and wife Pearl Ellis and Greg and wife Maxine Ellis, all of Coldwater, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Coldwater, KS. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, (Family Will Be Present from 5-7) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS.
