Obituary

Stanley Kent Hazen was born the fourth child to Eugene Hazen and Dixie Dodson Hazen on August 18, 1957, at Ashland, Kansas. Stan joined his heavenly father from his farm December 14, 2021. Stan attended Protection Public School and graduated with the class of 1976. Growing up Stan's most memorable moments were spent on the football field. After school and in the summers, he spent his time working on the farm alongside his father and brothers learning to drive a tractor at an early age. Following graduation Stan went to farm and ranch with his father, Gene, southwest of Protection KS. Stan and Kim met in 1974 and were united in marriage, October 28, 1978. To this union were born two children, Darci and Jeremy.

Stan was very talented with his hands. Some of Stan's hobbies were woodworking, welding, grilling, and "various" secondhand collections. In 1991 Stan and Kim purchased his grandparents place where he expanded his love for farming and ranching. He also purchased a bucket truck and started a painting and tree trimming business. One of the things that Stan enjoyed the most was his cows. Loved them so much that almost all had their own unique name. Most named after great nieces and nephews. Stan loved kids. He had many "buddies" around town that he made sure stop, kneel, and ask how their day was and magically pull a quarter out of their ear. From this he obtained the nickname "Stan Stan the Money Man". Stans biggest treasure in life was his granddaughter, Kyra.

Stan is survived in death by his wife Kim Hazen of the home. Children Darci Hazen of Ashland KS; Jeremy (Calie) Hazen, Grand Daughter Kyra, and baby Hazen of Satanta, KS. Brothers and Sisters; Kerry (Gene) Hackney, Steve (Kelly) Hazen, Trent Hazen, Amy Hazen, all of Protection, KS.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and brother Merle Hazen; mother-in-law Linda Haussler, father-in-law Bobby Harmon.
