IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tim
Petty
March 15, 1960 – November 21, 2021
Timothy James Petty, this sweet, gentle, funny, furious giant of a man won this earthy battle on November 21, 2021 and went home to Jesus! He was 61 years old. While some would say he lost his fight to Covid, those who've known him the longest have never known Tim to ever lose a fight. The way his family and friends see it, he was just about to whoop Covid, but the good Lord came in and said "Tim, that's enough".
It would take a novel to describe the life of Tim, so this will have to do. Born on March 15, 1960 in Ashland KS, the son of Jim and Carol (Fitzwater) Petty, he graduated from Protection High School in 1978. Throughout that time, he grew up working on the family farm, raisin' a ruckus with his brother Kip and sister Shannon and givin' the county sheriff a run for his money in his old white Ford Bronco.
He married his wife, Caroline (Clair) Petty on February 17, 1982 in Oklahoma City. He later went on to attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin MO.
Tim was best known as a country boy and patriot who spent most of his life being his brother's keeper, rough neckin' in the oil fields of Oklahoma, bull hauling thru the entire USA, riding Harleys, fishing, hunting, and spreading the love of Jesus everywhere. Most of all Tim loved his family. He could move mountains and reach up and rearrange the stars if it's what needed to be done to make them all happy and keep them all safe.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Petty of Bucklin KS, daughter Brandy Petty and husband Travis Kiehl of Dodge City KS, daughter Danielle Flores and husband Antonio of Dodge City KS, son Colt Petty and wife Kimberly of Fowler KS, his 4 grandchildren Timeri Petty, Rafael Flores, Gabriel Flores, and the soon to be Jaxon James Flores. His parents Jim & Carol Petty of Pryor OK, and one brother Kip Petty of Hurst TX. And his beloved aussie's Harley, Sunshine, Moses, and Drift.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Anna Petty, Garland and Irene Fitzwater, his sister Shannon Phillips, and two nephews, Ross Petty and Joshua Phillips.
Public viewing and visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, with the family present from 3-5 p.m. to greet friends, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS.
A Graveside Service for family and close friends will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Jim and Carol Petty's Farm, 1421 W. 440, Pryor, OK 74361, with Pastor Rob Pierce presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tim Petty Memorial in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
This son, husband, dad, brother and granddad is going to leave a big hole in the hearts of those who loved him the most.
