Obituary

Tommy Lee Salas, 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS. He was born on July 7, 1949 in Newton, KS the son of Raymond and Levrada Salas.

Tommy moved to Pioneer Lodge in April of 2000. It wasn't long before he became a well-known face around town. He collected empty cans for extra cash and enjoyed doing his part in keeping Coldwater clean. He saved the tabs off the cans for the Ronald McDonald houses. It is unknown just how many miles Tommy put in walking around town, he would be seen walking towards the cemetery and even to Lake Coldwater.

He had many friends on main street that he would stop and check on when he was out for his walks and getting his weekly popcorn at the bank. He even had "girls" at the local hospital he kept an eye on. He always had a story to tell the employees when he returned from his walks on what he learned about things going on around town.

He enjoyed seeing past employees as well, and always knew them by name. Tommy will be missed in the community.

His survivors include three brothers; Eddie Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Raymond Salas and three sisters; Diana Smith, Pauline Salas and Cathy Bell. His Uncles; Steve Espitia and Rudy Salas, Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
