Wade D. Zeigler
Wade D. Zeigler, 98, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Ottawa Retirement Village in Ottawa, KS. Born October 8, 1914, in Codell, KS, the son of Robert and Millie (McCord) Zeigler, he was a farmer.
Wade was a long time resident of Comanche County, KS, moving to Ottawa, KS in 2000. He graduated from Codell High School in 1932 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS in 1936. Wade was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945. He was a member of the Wilmore Federated Church in Wilmore, KS. Other memberships include: V.F.W. and Masonic Lodge.
On June 30, 1945, he married Ernestine Hubbard at Springfield, MO. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2005.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Beau Zeigler, Keith Zeigler, and R.J. Zeigler.
He is survived by two daughters: Trean Sinclair and husband Wilford of Osawatomie, KS and Jadeen Cook and husband Jim of Parsons, KS; one son: Zearl Zeigler of Hays, KS; grandchildren: Richard and Edie Sinclair, Anne and Danny Vealey, Julie and Galen Uhlich, Ellen and Mike Webber, Corey and Joseph Stewart, and Dennis Cook; and great-grandchildren: Lindsay, Chance, Katie, Caroline, Lindsey, Curtis, Ritchie, Andy, and Abby.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS, with Rev. Gary Merritt presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Coldwater, KS.
