Wanda Marie Booth-Wait, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, KS. Born April 23, 1933, at Belmont, KS, she was the daughter of Walbert James and Margaret Ruth (Amos) Ravenstein.
Wanda was a longtime resident of Comanche County, KS. She attended grade school in Belmont, KS, graduated from Adams High School in Adams, KS in 1951, attended Friends University in Wichita, KS for three years, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS in 1956. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching in Topeka, Lakin, Greensburg, and Coldwater, KS during her career.
She was a longtime member of the Wilmore Federated Church in Wilmore, KS, where she served as church pianist, and later the First Baptist Church in Protection, KS. Other memberships include: Member and Queen of Red Hat Society; Civic Club; Hospital Auxiliary; Sunny Valley 4-H Club; U.S.D. #300 School Board; and many other organizations.
On November 28, 1964, she married Charles Henry "Chuck" Booth in Norwich, KS. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1996. On January 19, 2013, she married Merle Wait in Protection, KS. He survives.
She is survived by her husband: Merle Wait of Protection, KS; one daughter: Cindy Booth of Hutchinson, KS; one son: Joe Booth (Randi Jo) of Wilmore, KS; one sister: Louise Baker of Owensville, MO; three grandchildren: Angela Marie Evenson (Eddy) of Gillette, WY, Kiah Booth of Coldwater, KS, and Braden Booth of Wilmore, KS; three great-grandchildren: Jace Underwood and Everett & Amelia Evenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband: Chuck Booth, she was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sisters; and a brother-in-law: Paul Baker.
Visitation with Family Present will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020, at Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Kennedy Mukwindidza and Rev. Sue Talbot presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Wilmore Cemetery in Wilmore, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to South Central Music Department or Wilmore Community Center in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
