Warren Lee Moore, 89, beloved husband just days shy of 65 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away November 5, 2023 at the Ashland Health Center in Ashland, KS.
Warren was born on January 9, 1934 to Russell and Irene (Klasser) Moore in Ashland, KS. He lived nearly all his life in Protection, only leaving to go to college for 2 years at Fort Hays State University and served 2 years in the Army. Warren went to school in Protection, graduating with the class of 1952.
On November 9, 1958, Warren married the love of his life Judith Christopher. Together they made their home on the Moore farm northwest of Protection, where they lived most of their lives raising their 7 children - Mike, Melanie, Mitch, Merlin, Mindy, Melissa and Michelle.
Warren loved farming and ranching. When not at the farm, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and school activities. Warren served at church on several committees and boards, while also serving as the head usher for years. Other offices he served were for the FSA Board and the Election Committee.
Above all, Warren was dedicated to his family and proud of each and every one and grateful for their love.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents: Russell and Irene Moore; brother: Jim Moore; and son-in-law: Jeff Wilson.
Warren is survived by his wife: Judy; his sons: Mike (Kimberly) Moore of Protection, KS, Mitch (Sandy) Moore of Protection, KS, Merlin (Heather) Moore of Coldwater, KS; daughters: Melanie (Scott) Seatvet of Grand Junction, CO, Mindy (Mark) Huslig of Springfield, MO, Melissa Wilson of Johnson, KS and Michelle (Chris) Pfannenstiel of Goddard, KS; sister: Janet (Mike) Dodd of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren: Daniel (Jana) Seatvet, Matthew (CJ) Seatvet, Megan (Nick) Derba, Ryan (Karley) Huslig, Kiley (Rodney) Shanks, Casey Woolfolk, Megan (Mike) Mariche, Lora (Nathan) Welsh, Addison Moore, Austin Mounts, Jared Moore, Karley Moore, Austin Wilson, Reagan (Christopher) Lozar, Garrett Wilson, Nolan Pfannenstiel, Lauryn Pfannenstiel and 13 great-grandchildren.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, KS.
Graveside Service is at 9:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2023 at Protection Cemetery in Protection, KS, followed by a Church Service at 10:00 a.m., at Protection Methodist Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Dennis Carter presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Protection Methodist Church or Interim Hospice in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
