Wayne Wesley Kindsvater, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at his residence in Coldwater, KS. Born January 22, 1935, at Ashland, KS, the son of Jake and Helen E. (Boese) Kindsvater, he was a farmer and rancher.
Wayne was a lifetime resident of Comanche County, KS. He attended Pikeview Country School and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1952, where he was a member of the football team and F.F.A. Wayne was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher; 50-year member of Comanche Lodge #295; and Comanche County Volunteer Fire Department.
On May 1, 1954, he married Margo J. Anderson at Clayton, NM. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2002.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Mark Wayne Kindsvater; one brother: Alvin Kindsvater; and one sister: Marjory Kindsvater.
He is survived by one daughter: Mona Jane Kindsvater of Freedom, OK; four grandsons: Matt Turley (Taffi) of Coldwater, KS, Tim Turley of Lubbock, TX, Joe Turley (Michelle) of Schofield Barracks, HI, and Daniel Turley (Ashley) of Protection, KS; eight great-grandchildren: Morgan, Britney, Mylee, Collin, Joseph, Peyton, Tucker, and Wyatt; and a sister-in-law: Reva Kindsvater of Vinita, OK.
Calling times are from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 (FAMILY WILL GREET FRIENDS FROM 5-7 p.m.) at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, KS.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater, KS, with Pastor Juan Espinoza presiding.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.
